Ports participating in Special Campaign 2.0

A large number of ports are taking part in the Special Campaign 2.0.
Here are some ports’ current activities:
On October 2, 2022, Dr. Leela Edwin, Director (Acting), ICAR-CIFT, launched the Special Campaign 2.0.
From October 2 to October 31, 2022, the Directorate General of Shipping will observe Special Campaign 2.0.
At the CIFT Staff Quarters, a garbage collection drive was held with staff participation as part of the plod Run Campaign.
A cleared import of coal was successfully auctioned off in the Port as part of the Special Campaign 2.0 for the resolution of outstanding issues, and roughly 7500 square metres of land inside the customs-bound area were made available for additional commercial usage.
The beach cleanup event was organised as part of this initiative to raise awareness and foster pride among the populace.

In accordance with the Special Campaign 2.0 strategy, several port authorities like Paradip, Tuticorin, and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority managed biomedical waste through segregation, collection, storage, and disposal. The garbage is subsequently taken to the site of the approved disposal vendor for the necessary treatment.
