Cargo Movement Hits All Time High At Ahmedabad Airport

According to the most recent passenger movement data from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, which achieved an all-time high level, the travel and tourism industry has recovered from the Covid setback.

Over 2 lakh passengers travelled from SVPI Airport last week, with many days having passenger loads crossing 32,000, and the cargo movement through the dedicated cargo terminal crossed 200 tonnes in a single day, which is an all-time high, according to a statement from the Adani Group-operated SVPI Airport.

The latest ILBS system upgrade at SVPI airport assisted in managing daily passenger loads of more than 32,000 throughout the holiday week.

According to the statement, suitable SOPs were put in place for efficient operations and all airline workers received the necessary training to operate the new system.

The capacity was increased by 100% as a result of the baggage handling system update.

In order to improve the customer experience and speed up the check-in procedure, the airport added 6 new check-in counters.

Along with facilitating simple and seamless passenger travel, SVPI Airport handled more than 200 tonnes of cargo, marking a significant milestone.

The SVPI Airport has recently added a separate domestic and international cargo terminal. A recent freight service called “bonded trucking” will also help to grow the industry, according to the statement.
