The closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics was a grand celebration of global athletic excellence, with India making its mark with a historic medal haul. Indian athletes delivered outstanding performances, bringing home a total of 12 medals — including 5 golds, 3 silvers, and 4 bronzes — making it the country’s best Olympic performance to date.
The Indian contingent, led by flag-bearer Neeraj Chopra, who successfully defended his gold in javelin throw, received a standing ovation as they marched into the Stade de France. Other standout athletes included Mirabai Chanu, who clinched gold in weightlifting, and the Indian men’s hockey team, which secured a silver medal in a thrilling final.
